Fujifilm mirrorless GFX100
On top of the massive resolution, this camera is the highest of any mirrorless or medium-format with some seriously impressive specifications. The GFX 100 has a full-size design; it features an integrated vertical grip and a much larger stance than the typical mirrorless camera. The 102 megapixels is the highest resolution ever offered in a mirrorless camera ever.
Besides that, the size is almost similar to Canon’s EOS-1D X than even Fujifilm’s own GFX 50R. Inside that massive, three-pound frame is a new, 102-megapixel sensor and that five-axis in-body image stabilization system. According to the Fujifilm, it provides up to 5.5 stops of shake correction.
Coming to the technical details, GFX100 can track subjects at up to 5 fps in its continuous focus tracking modes and can focus in lighting as low as -2EV. The sensor measures 55mm diagonally and provides about 1.7 times more surface area than a 35mm “full frame” chip.
Other than this, the camera is the first medium format camera to offer uncropped 4K video shooting. Shooting at 10-bit 4:2:2 4K 30p video, it means that the camera will appeal to serious filmmakers looking for the cinematic look that the large sensor can offer. When the standard digital cinema format (17:9) is selected, the GFX 100 records video with a sensor area measuring 43.8 x 23.19mm. It is larger than many high end cinema cameras. It will be available starting on June 27th for $9,999.95.
